3.  We believe that the Bible teaches for one to become a Christian they must do five things.
     A) Hear the word of God
Romans 10:17: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
     B) Believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God.
Mark 16:15-16: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth

and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
     C) Repent of the sin that separates us from God.
Luke 13:3: I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

     D) Confess your faith in Jesus the Christ.
Matthew 10:32-33: Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in

heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven.

     E) Be baptized by immersion.
Acts 2:38: Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the

remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Romans 6:3-6: Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore

we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father,

even so we also should walk in newness of life.  For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall

be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might

be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. - Ecclesiastes 12:12-13

Thank you for your interest in the New Hope Road Church of Christ. We are a loving group of God’s people seeking to uplift each other and the community as we walk in fellowship with each other and with Jesus Christ.

1. We teach New Testament Christianity. We have no other creed or rule book.
    Galatians 1:6-8
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: Which is not

another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. But though we, or an angel from heaven,

preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

2. We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God.
    2 Timothy 3:14-17
    But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith

which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for

instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

5.  We believe each congregation is autonomous.

      A) Christ is overall

Ephesians 1:22-23: And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the

church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

      B) Elders oversee or rule over congregations.

Acts 20:28: Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you

overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

      C) Deacons are appointed to see that the various works of the congregation are fulfilled.

Acts 6:2-3: Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should

leave the word of God, and serve tables. Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of

the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business.

6.  We believe in the unity of believers.

      A) Pleasing God, rather than man

1 Thessalonians 2:4: But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing

men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

      B) Speak the same thing

1 Corinthians 1:10: Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing,

and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same

      C) Neither adding to nor taking away from the Word of God

Revelation 22:18-19: For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall

add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away

from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city,

and from the things which are written in this book.

      D) Rightly dividing the word of truth

2 Timothy 2:15: Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing

           the word of truth.

4.  We believe the following are required for acceptable worship on the Lord’s Day.

     A) Must be in spirit and in truth

John 4:23-24: But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth:

for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in

     B) Must be on the Lord’s Day, the first day of the week, Sunday.

Acts 20:7: And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them,

ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

    C) Must contain only the five acts found practiced by the first century church.

        1) Singing, not instrumental music

Ephesians 5:19: Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart

        to the Lord;

        2) Prayers are to be offered

Acts 2:42 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in

        3) Preaching is to be done

Acts 20:7: And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them,

ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

        4) The Lord’s supper is to be taken

Acts 20:7: And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them,

ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.

        5) The giving as prospered

1 Corinthians 16:1-2: Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so

do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no

        gatherings when I come.
